Individualism VS. Sacrificial Collectivism

A good "refresher" article by the always eloquent Richard Ebeling, former president of FEE-the Foundation for Economic Education and the BB&T Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Free Enterprise Leadership at The Citadel--always good to remind ourselves of why we struggle against collectivism and to refresh our wording for persuading others of its damage to our souls and our country.

A Less Perfect Union

History of States' Rights, with solutions

We can ALL get what we want by following the Constitution!

Imagine a world—or at least a country—where each of us could choose our own form of government under which to live.

Perhaps you are a flaming liberal and want to live in a state with a huge government bureaucracy of many agencies, cradle to the grave welfare, no private property, common ownership of the means of production, and a lot of kumbaya (sp?) with others who feel just as you do. Guess what…you can have it! In your lifetime!

Perhaps you are an “extreme” conservative and want to live in a state where you can be responsible for your own self and determine your own life and trade freely with your like-minded neighbors so long as you don’t hurt them or take their things. You can have it!

Perhaps you are somewhere in between. You can have that too!

Because guess what…that is exactly what our founding fathers established already in our Constitution when they left all the governing power to the individual sovereign states giving just a few well-defined enumerated powers (relating to foreign affairs and mediation between states) to the fed govt.

It’s already right there in writing! Right there at our fingertips!  How exciting and uplifting is that!

We don’t need to debate the issues. We don’t have to argue or persuade anyone to our side. No hard feelings necessary. No compromise necessary. Everybody wins.

WE ARE ABSOLUTELY WASTING OUR PRECIOUS TIME, ENERGY AND PASSION DEBATING THE ISSUES WITH A BUNCH OF CLUELESS LIBERALS WHO WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER “GET IT”.

WE NEED TO FOCUS LIKE A LASER ON DECENTRALIZATION OF GOVT TO THE STATE LEVEL PER THE CONSTITUTION…THEN, AND ONLY THEN, WE CAN DEBATE ALL ISSUES AT THE STATE (OR LOCAL) LEVEL.

There are enough of us who “get it”—who understand the connections between liberty, a free market economy, happiness and prosperity—to populate several flyover states that are already leaning toward those ideals. We have to congregate and concentrate in those states where we have hope to demand of the feds adherence to the Constitution and the state level government that it clearly established.

That is what we at the State Level Government Project are shooting for, and here’s the game plan:

1. Develop a model resolution/legislation for the state legislatures to use in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence (because it’s not actually legally required—the authority is already given to the states in the Constitution) proclaiming that any and all unconstitutional federal agencies, legislation, executive orders, ets, will not be recognized by the state and will be met with interposition by the state between the federal govt and it’s citizens.

2. Recruit like-minded liberty loving, Constitution-loving conservatives to congregate and concentrate in those states where there is hope of success in this area, so that we don’t have to live under tyranny of a majority which just doesn’t and will never understand or value liberty and the prosperity it brings.

3. Support and encourage all state legislators and governors who are onboard with us in restoring state level government.

Wyoming is known as the most Conservative state. Montana has a really, really good bunch of true conservative patriot warrior legislators who are going to rock that town of Helena! Idaho, Alaska, and some others show potential. Those are the ones we are interested in.

Don’t think we can’t do this. 3% of the people won the first American Revolution. “It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” ~~Samuel Adams

We're going to start making a list of people who are probably like-minded enough and maybe passionate enough about liberty to congregate geographically with us especially in Wyoming and Montana. Do you want to be on the list? Do you know others who would?

And we're going to start seeking assistance in drafting of the above-mentioned comprehensive resolutions for states to use. (There are already ones actually voted on/in about specific issues--that is thinking too small.) Maybe Tenth Amendment Center can help. Maybe KrisAnne Hall.

The only unacceptable option is to sit here preaching to the choir amongst ourselves as we watch our country taken down by the predators.
